I used to have quite a few handbags for the different seasons but now only use a small black one when I go out, whether it’s winter or summer. I have a slightly larger one (which is still small) which I use in the house for things I don’t take out with me.
Liv and Nellie will, I’m sure, be delighted to know that all my other bags were donated to a charity shop as they were virtually unused.
I wouldn’t have a black bag in summer, Toril, it wouldn’t look right with summer clothes. As I have been going out for 2 hours per week and just local grocery shopping for almost a year now, I haven’t even bothered to change my summer bag which is a dull gold colour and needs replacing which I normally do annually in TKMaxx....** sigh**
The only reason I haven’t bought new bags is that I can’t take the weight any more but it has to be big enough for my folding walking stick to go in. I will be looking for a summer colour one soon. I am with Nellie’s mother on matching to clothes. When I was still working I went with that rule.
Where do you put your mask, disposable gloves, hand gel, wipes, tissues, lippy, purse, pen, diary and Paracetamol, Nia Miss ?
I only go to Tesco or Lidl. mask on face (I put it on before I leave the car) no gloves gel/ wipes in car tissue up sleeve no lippy no purse (coins inside the bag in the inside zipped bit) no pen diary in desk paracetamol with coins, I cut off 4 of the blister pack.
If I'm going away I pack all the above and more in a bigger bag.
There were a couple of news stories of car fires that were caused by hand gel in last summers heatwave, which given that they're 70+% alcohol it's hardly surprising they ignite when left in over heated vehicles
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong
I'd seen it on the news months ago so had a look on line and apparently the National Fire Chiefs Council have said the reports are wrong, despite being alcohol it needs a spark to ignite it. The NHS have said it should be kept in the glove compartment as it deteriorates when left in the sun
I keep mine in the door storage thingy. I haven't used it for a while as Tesco has a person spraying the trolleys outside the main entrance and I use the sanitation point going in and coming out. Same with Lidl.
