Shopping @ Ikea - the easy way

I ordered my bedroom furniture from them last year which was very convenient but I think the delivery was £35 or £40 but I'd never have got it in my car anyway

I'm psyching myself up for a trip to look at the wardrobes - will have to go before the schools break up or I will have to be sedated first.

Not so much the crowds, Kerri, although in school holiday time I imagine it would be a complete nightmare with so much stuff being at kiddie height, but the fact you have to traipse around the entire shop just to look at one thing.

Then, of course, there is the queuing at the till and the unavoidable eye contact with Daim bars (which I could well do without); the awfulness of the restaurants where Mr Nell insists on eating because he actually likes the Swedish meatballs with lingon berry conserve; the person with the squeaky wheel on their trolley who always keep pace with us around the store; and the inevitable "will it" or "won't it" fit in the car performance.

I do like their cheap napkins though.

I’ve only been to an Ikea the once. I got out without wanting to kill anyone’s child, eating meatballs or eye balling a Diam bar.

I will never darken an Ikea door again. The place is hell on earth....any of them! Whoever designed the stores needs to have their ears boxed.
