The storm didn't clear the air, it just caused flash floods...
The 'posh' suburbs are on high ground and are the coolest in summer which is why land is so much more expensive there. We compensate here, by having the wind straight off the sea, though we don't always appreciate that in the Winter.
When we moved to Greece, it surprised me that the Greeks discuss the weather just as avidly as the Brits, when the whole world seems to believe that the British have the monopoly on weather talk.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
Would you prefer my experience earlier this morning. 17 sheep in the front garden making a royal racket and messing up the garden. I pulled a pair of leggings on under my nightie and went out to do war. They are so stupid and were running in all directions, eventually crashing through the dry stone wall back into their field.
Every day we have had this lately. Yesterday OH was out there trying to get them out. I spoke to the farmer yesterday evening when he called there - I told him they were out on the road too. If a car hits them that could be big trouble, not just for the driver either! The farmer would be hit with a massive bill for repairs.
Anyway they are a bloody nuisance, and yes, I am an animal lover.

Hope he sorts it out @itchy. The ones we met on holiday at the B&B were more sensible , but they were Welsh which obviously makes a difference. We had also met some just outside Powis Castle being moved to a new field - the sheep dog was sitting on the back of one of those quad bikes and just jumped down occasionally to remind certain sheep to move then got back on to the quad bike.
I was woken by what has to be a corncrake at dawn this morning. Never heard such an unlovely bird song!
OH had a bad night and has only just got up. He told me he was out in the garden at 4.30am chasing the sheep out of the garden. I never heard a thing! Obviously they took no notice of him as they had come back when I got up at 7.30.
It is cooler here this morning - cloudy with a pleasant breeze which is great as I've got to go to the P.O depot to collect a parcel that they tried to deliver when I was Ooop North. It obviously wasn't my usual postman because he knows where to leave parcels etc when I'm out.
Considering the fact that I loathe hot weather, I've been okay during the heatwave. I've slept well and when I have been a tad hot, my fan has done the job quickly. I do have an air con thingy, which doesn't need a pipe stuck out of the window, but I haven't had to use it in the nine years that I've lived here. I think living in a house that doesn't get the sun on it, and so remains cool, is the main reason I'm not suffering like some people are.
I do drink about two litres of water a day and have lived on salads, which require very little effort to prepare but I also don't have an appetite in this weather so find a salad filling.
Unfortunately, the temperatures are due to soar again by the weekend. 😳 I just want a torrential downpour for my garden!
