What cost to the taxpayers? The ceremony was held at the Chapel of All Saints on the Windsor estate where the Queen is isolating with Prince Philip so if extra security was drafted in it would be minimal.
It was originally postponed, when we went into lockdown, and that fact was widely reported and so there’s no way that their forthcoming wedding was a secret. And even if they had kept completely schtum, isn’t that a couple’s business rather than ours?
I wonder if you would have felt the same if the guy in your avatar had had a secret wedding? Or is it because she’s a Royal? mamafrankie,
And it's everyone's business when the taxpayer has to foot the bill. Although I don't know about widely reported since I don't watch television (don't have one, consider it a waste of time) or read newspapers.
To be honest, I very much doubt that the tax payers will have footed the bill as it was a small, low key and private wedding. But even if we did, I personally don’t mind (as a tax payer.) I know about your intense dislike of the Royal Family but, whichever way you look at it, they do bring a lot of money into the country.
It’s the so-called “celebrities” that I’d invite to emigrate elsewhere. Long may the Royal Family continue. (Just my opinion.)
