Video assistant referees will be used in the Premier League next season after being voted in by clubs at a meeting on Thursday.
England's top-flight held off introducing VAR this season, even though it has been used in other top leagues, including Spain, and by FIFA at the World Cup.
However, the Premier League's 20 clubs have now decided to introduce VAR from the start of the 2019-20 campaign, pending approval from the International Football Association Board and FIFA.
VAR has been used for quite a while in rugby league and it often highlights a "no try" when those on the field have thought it was. The same applies to tries that turn out not to be.
In football, it'll probably be useful in showing up an illegal toe stub, followed by the usual histrionics or whether someone is offside or if a penalty should be awarded.
