Anyway, as I had to go into town this morning, I decided to shop in Sainsburys. They had not a single chilled item of anything, blinds were down in four aisles, and all the frozen food aisles were empty. Due to yesterdays heat apparently, they had run out of the chilling gas, and are hoping to be back up and running tomorrow. That must have been fun removing all the food!

Similar story at Asda today. Mrs M went in only to find little on the racks as two of the three chillers on her section were down. Apparently it was due to a computer malfunction in the early hours, a computer that regulates temperatures across the region's Asda stores, so the other local branches were in the same mess. Thousands of pounds worth of meat and other food were dumped today.
Waitrose was the same yesterday - chiller section was low (nothing) due to a fire at their distribution centre - according to a notice as you entered the store.
