I had a bit of struggle with that Lil. Moisturising my legs not Himself! It was when I really struggled with the dizzy spells. It’s a bit of a bugga to moisturise your legs whilst keeping your head up, Then someone recommended the Vaseline spray ones. Brilliant! I just spray my legs and wait for it to sink in. And its brilliant for doing your own back as well. I buy it in packs of 6 from t’internet these days.
I would like to stop smoking next year if at all possible but I’m not putting too much pressure on myself as I wouldn’t want to put any of the weight back on so I’ll just see how it goes. I have bought one of those vape thingamajigs, so I’ll just do what I can

I gave up smoking ten years ago today. I put my last cigarette out at 11.59pm and started 2009 as a non-smoker. The one thing I did was to change my routine so that I stopped having 'habitual' cigarettes. i.e. Instead of lightning up as soon as I woke, I cleaned my teeth instead. I washed up as soon as I finished my meal, instead of lighting up, etc. Small changes but they worked for me. I did use a nicotine patch for a month, but by the end of that month my desire to smoke had gone.
The one thing that really helped though was that I kept an unopened pack of cigarettes in the cupboard - just in case. However, when I really wanted a cigarette I was determined not to open that cellophane on the unopened pack because I'm a stubborn mare and didn't want to be beaten by an expensive card box with white sticks in it that were full of dead leaves and no good for my health. When I missed holding a cigarette, I held a pen instead, but obviously didn't light it. 😉
Have a go with vaping, MrMarple. My friend used to smoke 60+ cigarettes a day 😳 (no idea how they found the time) and stopped by going straight onto vaping and 5 years later is feeling healthier, richer and they haven't missed cigarettes at all.
P.S. I didn't put on any weight after ditching the cigs and if I can do it, I'm sure that you can.
We don't celebrate New Year, as when my wife and I were younger Hogmanay was a Scottish thing that didn't concern us, apart from maybe watching Andy Stewart on the TV.
We'll probably be asleep before midnight, and then get woken up by bloody texts from everyone else.
