And, isn't strange @interestedbob, that we get our coldest weather in January when the sun is closest to earth?
Something to do with Earth's axis and the angle of sun rays I think.
It is odd, Frazz, but that's only in the Northern hemisphere. 'Down Under' it's their summer, which is hotter than our summer, because it happens at the closest point to the sun.
