Had a quick look round TK Maxx today. Went in to buy more of those grip to me type hangers ... I've no idea where they all go!!
Some lovely Osprey handbags and also a brand called Gigi that I don't really know. For the first time I saw Kipling bags. They had the Ciciley in a pretty dark coral for £29.99. There were a couple of different cross body styles that I didn't recognise both in the blue floral leopard. They also had a what I think was a Kipling Enora in a bright splotchy print in a pink, yellow and red pattern on a blue background with blue handles.
In the beauty bit they had New CID, Bare Minerals and Nails Inc. I bought nowt other than the coat hangers.
I love TK Max. It's up there in top slot in the list of my favourite stores. I find it hard to walk past the handbags & purses without having a look. Last time I picked up a small coral leather pen holder case that was perfect for my specs. Small, soft & neat - just right. I think I've only ever seen one Kipling bag, though to be fair I'm not a fan so it is possible more were there & I just didn't home in on the label. The central Cardiff branch sells jewellery & I always have a little loiter there. The face space can be a right mix. I've picked up some SLS free soap (Himself will only use soap) & shampoo, some fabulous body washes & body creams & last summer they had Ultrasun Face on sale, both the normal & the tinted. If I hadn't already stocked up I would have nabbed a few of those. I've had makeup & wash bags, scarves, a hat one year, umbrellas & a pair of black leather calf boots that show no sign of wear several years down the line. Good thick textured sole, smallish heel and fur lined. Perfect. As for upstairs in Homewares.......Paradise.
I'm very fond of TK Maxx, especially for handbags. I've had Gigi bags in the past - good supple leather - but they are usually crossbody types that I seem to recall you don't use Tinks.
I'm sure I read somewhere that the Osprey bags they sell are inferior - I'm no expert but they seem fine to me!
The best value things I ever bought there were a pair of large, boxed, Versace glass candlesticks that were marked at £10 each. I'm no label queen but I recognised the rather distinctive Medusa logo on the boxes and wondered if they were genuine. Sure enough, there were tiny leaflets inside the boxes explaining about the collaboration between Gianni Versace and Rosenthal. I can't remember what the exact retail price should have been but it was nearer the £50 each mark. We gave them to friends that Christmas - they do know their labels and were very impressed........
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I think the Osprey bags are very good. I have a lovely orange one. But it wouldn't surprise me if they were a slightly different quality. The linings are always great and you have to pick and choose the best one.
Yesterday they had a lovely pink one which wasn't perfect and a boxy orange one which was but even I don't need two orange bags.
I knew I shouldn't have looked at this thread. I just had to look at their website, and have ended up buying another bag (which I really don't need), and 2 tops.
Bags are my weakness Cog. I still mourn the one that got away at Christmas. I went into TK Max for a quick look and saw a beautiful soft leather black number. Because I was in a rush to meet 23 I left it & we returned together. I ripped the place apart, but it was gone. I usually hide what I fancy at the back but didn't do that on that occasion. That will teach me.
I've been in an actual TK Maxx shop once I think - our nearest is Colchester and I rarely go there! Never thought about an online shop - I didn't think they were that sort of place! - however, a quick look revealed a black jersey knee length skirt which I have been trying to find for ages!! Thanks!
Ive ordered THIS and THIS. I've got the first top in a similar fabric, and it's lovely, really good shape and fit. I also ordered THIS in metallic silver.
