I've had a very busy fortnight on the DIY front. I killed off all the Vinca in a flowerbed half way down the lawn a so I could grass it over. This weekend bit of forking, 9 bags of topsoil from B&Q and the patch is ready for seeding. It will make mowing the lawn much easier. Then I lifted the slabs surrounding the said patch and laid them in the lawn to create a stepping stone path from the bandstand to the shed at the bottom of the garden. All 35 of the buggas. Ruby thinks it's splendid. Of course it was murder in this heat! I could only work on it very early in the morning and later in the evening before the midges came out to dance. While waiting for the Vinca to die, I decided to get rid of our cushion pads and covers and start again. As I chose pads that were not a conventional shape I had to make the covers. I quite enjoyed that. I've moved some framed pictures around the house as well and made some copies of prints to put in frames. This evening I mounted Henri Matisse and it all went swimmingly.
