'Much cooler today' I thought so I decided to lift and level the soil beneath the patio slabs that are standing a bit proud in the grass on my stepping path. They were easy to spot, they have white edges as Himself mows over them regardless of the terrible noise the blades make when they scrape along the concrete slabs. Big mistake. It was hard work and I filled the wheelbarrow twice with soil and small tree root runners. I felt like a dunked doughnut after lifting just three slabs.
30 has divorced and been in the process of selling their property. Custody of the cats was sorted easily -one each. Guess who has been roped in to look after 30's cat Oz? Me! 30 now lives 11 floors up in an apartment and will be looking for a house, but in the meantime ... Knowing that this was on the cards we got a quote from my builder neighbour for new windows and soffits in June. "The order will take 4-6 weeks," he said. "Roughly it will take a week," he said. Plenty of time we thought before Oz arrives. Not so. The weeks ticked by, no sign of Mark. Now Oz is coming on Wednesday. I haven't told Ruby yet, I've been putting it off. Builder Mark turned up this morning ready to start Monday. He went white when I told him we would have to delay installation for a while until Oz settled in. Poor Oz has got the same heart condition as Himself, high BP and has to be medicated twice a day. Add to that he's a nervous cat and has to contend with Ruby being here. I'd never forgive myself if anything happened while he was under my care.
Mark is coming on Monday at 7 and says he'll do the windows in two days. No, he's not being extra accommodating, he wants his money
So long as Ruby is on your side I am sure Oz will fit in well with his temporary accommodation . Just remember not to mix up Himself and Oz’s medication. You could be in for an interesting time.
