I decided to take the kitchen sink gubbings apart today, like you do. Just wanted to be sure my attempts to flush through without doing this last week had worked and cleared what was making waste water run away slowly. It had!
However, the gubbings wouldn't stop leaking from one place when I re-assemble all the piping. After trying for best part of an hour, I eventually figured out that instead of attaching the nut thingy to the outpipe-to u-bend thingy, you need to put the nut thingy+seal on to the outpipe first, and use the outpipe-to-u-bend thingy to screw onto the nut thingy. Simples!
I'll be able to register as an emergency callout plummer on Checkatrade now.
After much debate, I've won a small victory. Himself has finally agreed that the bath in our recently refitted bathroom should go. It was a mistake. It's a white elephant
Not really in my mind Frazz, but Himself will have a meltdown whatever. The bath will be removed and the bidet will be resited somewhere along the area it occupied. It means pulling up the flooring to get at the pipes but we've got spare flooring in the garage so no big deal there. We had a walk-in shower fitted so I did suggest that the bath would be surplus to our requirements, but ...
It will save me having to clean a dusty bath lol I would have liked to move the sink further along the wall under the window seeing as there will be a gap where the bidet sat, but I know when not to push my luck
