When I started smoking the first time as a schoolgirl in Australia, it was the fashion to smoke the menthol fags. We thought we were sooo cool! I stopped before my Mum could catch me and didn't start again until I was 18.
We have friends who live in Surrey - both very heavy smokers - who go each month on the Eurothingy (from neighbouring Kent) and travel into Belgium for fags as they are cheaper than in France.
They have lunch, stop at a French hypermarket on the way back for those little bottles of beer, pate and cheese and refill with petrol. It must be worth their while, even with a gas guzzling car.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
When the Channel Tunnel first opened you could do a £10 return trip to France, straight into the hypermarkets, cram the car and be back home in half a day. Didn't bother to stop for lunch lol!
I remember when I was still at school, 10 cigs, a box of matches and a packet of chewing gum (I naively thought the gum would disguise the smoke smell) was 99p. Ahh, the good old days eh?
