That's a revolting idea, Lily. Although FIL used to like a sausage roll sandwich.
I spotted some new ideas in Iceland yesterday - Mrs M wasn't impressed with the news so there may be oppostion. But they have started doing cottage pie pies - ie. a miniature cottage pie encased in pastry - and a mac'n'cheese pasty.
Just back from the after-Hash meal at the Taverna. We had fava, courgette croquettes, taramasalata, various salads, kokoretsi, roast pig, chicken fillet, beef in a lemon sauce, lemon potatoes, various wines and a choice of yoghurt with quince or pannacotta for dessert. It was excellent.

Kokoretsi or Kokoreç is a dish of the Balkans and Asia Minor, consisting of lamb or goat intestines wrapped around seasoned offal, including sweetbreads, hearts, lungs, or kidneys, and typically grilled; a variant consists of chopped innards cooked on a griddle. The intestines of suckling lambs are preferred.
I was fascinated by seeing that cooking everywhere when I was in Athens. Never got round to trying it, but smells coming from the spits made it very tempting.
I made a batch of ricotta beef burgers this afternoon, had two tonight topped with onions, plus some mixed baked beans.
I love a home-made burger, I often make a couple for my lunch.
Yes, the kokoretsi smells delicious and, I have to admit that, had I known exactly what it was, I may not have tried it 30 years ago when it was first served to me and would have missed out on a real tasty treat. It's all in the mind, youngest daughter happily ate battered kalamari until she discovered it wasn't onion rings.Four of the Hashers had pre-ordered lambs heads today which they shared with their two young children who were all eating them with relish but I couldn't eat brains because I hate the texture.
