I carried a donor card even before Bryan was put on the transplant list. The boys got cards when we knew he needed a transplant. Obviously I am in favour of this new law but I also understand that not everyone would be agreeable to it and I would never condemn them.
I don’t carry a donor card, but I’ve told my son that he could tell the doctors to take whatever was of use to anyone else (once I’m no longer alive of course.) At least the new law means he doesn’t have to remember that. 😉
I have also told him I want a DNR, but I’ll write a letter to that effect so he can just hand it over like I did with mum.
