I was a bit young to see him play Henry V at the Aldwych in the mid-sixties, and I avoided Lord Of The Rings like the plague.
The films, the BBC radio adaptation, or both, Mr Moody?
He played Bilbo in the films, and Frodo in the radio version. The films were OK, but I personally preferred the radio adaptation, which I recorded on 13 cassette tapes at the time. I listened to it in the van when I was working, dozens, possibly hundreds of time. It includes a lot of stuff that was left out of the films, such as the encounter with Tom Bombadil and Goldberry.
