A few decades ago - Having made it across the other side of the dual carrigeway, a weasel with 4-5 babies shot across the road in front of me in a line. Fortunately, they were far enough ahead and going at a phenomenal speed!
One foolish rat has just signed his own death warrant. It is obvious that rats will be around seeing as we live right next to a stream and that does not bother me as long as they play fair and are discreet. One little beggar has become too bold. Friday night I couldn't get the cats in. They were both sat on the patio furniture transfixed at something at the bottom of the garden. All I saw was eye shine. Yesterday I heard a plop in the water and saw a rat swimming from one side of the bank to the other. Today I saw a rat scuttle across the lawn and go under the hedge into next door's garden. They've got bird feeders.
Not in my garden but this morning on my way out I saw a beautiful Barn Owl, you don't often see them out and about during the day unless it's winter and there's little food or they're feeding young and as he/she was in good condition I guess it was the latter. I'd pulled into a field entrance to let a car coming towards me pass and it was sitting on the gate not five foot from my car it just sat there looking at me before it flapped it's wings and was gone
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong

I often see them round here, especially early morning and twilight. You have to be careful because the buggers often sit in the middle of the road - apparently a great vantage point when looking for food. I can't see it myself but I suppose they know what they're doing.

Too much wildlife around here today. Dead vole on the patio first thing this morning the crows and magpies recreating the Battle of Britain overhead the dopey doves are flying around with twigs so goodness know where they will stick them in the hope of building a decent nest and raising young this year the rat making a quick dash across the lawn at lunchtime and to cap it all, I almost stepped on a hedgehog when I went outside just now.
