My dentist was an NHS one but they changed to a private practice years ago. I’ve been with them since I moved here in 1973 so stayed with them as it’s a superb practice. I’m on a practice plan which means that, in the event of an accident to your teeth, you can make a claim. The practice manager sorted all of that out for me and then the money was paid into my account. All I did was to dictate a statement to her about what had happened and then I signed a form.
Although the NHS ones shouldn't be charging anything, we've already paid for their service. Mrs M uses an NHS dentist, to be fair they have been a godsend.
I'm sure I've explained it all before - age 21 I needed a root filling in a lower back tooth. My dentist of the day was a red faced ginger haired burly Scotsman who his assists had described before his arrival as "in a bad mood today". Not filled with confidence then, he began work and injected the anaesthetic, but it was wrong and it went numb all up the side of my face but not the lower jaw. He began drilling, I cried out in angst but to no avail, he insisted the anaesthetic would work and he carried on. Upshot was I had the whole procedure done with zero anaesthetic and I swore I'd never use the services of these bastards ever again, a stance I've stood by to this day and shall continue to stand by until the day I'm rolling in agony.
My £2000 plate was well worth it because there is no way that anyone would guess that they’re not my original teeth. In fact they are better than the original crowns with regards to colour etc. I’m sure that your bridge will be as good as well.
Yes I saw that Yorko, I expect MrMarple will have the same one very soon...
I very much doubt it. Posting on an online forum is about as technical as I can go so they’ll be no avatars from me I’m afraid. Mainly because I wouldn’t have a clue where to start 🙄
