Posting online on Thursday, Madeley said: "I started to feel briefly unwell in the small hours of the morning and was taken to hospital as a precaution."
He must now leave the show because he has broken its Covid safety bubble.
The 65-year-old said he had "had the time of my life" on the programme and was "gutted" to be unable to re-join, but stressed that the "safety of all the campmates is the number one priority".
Also a great excuse to get out of a freezing castle just as the weather decides to start dumping winter.
The others will be keeping warm partying over the weekend now lol!
Two new camp mates join tonight (Ian Beale from Eastenders and Steve MacDonald from Coronation Street) so they might not notice Richard hasn’t returned. 😉
Joking apart its pretty obvious that whoever that is (I have no idea) must be quite unstable in some way to be reacting like that
As with a lot of these types of shows there needs to be more attention paid to that issue before they all go into this hell hole and be scrutinised like lab rats for so called entertainment
Of course nobody would watch if there was no drama but I imagine watching stuff like this back later could be damaging to a person, unless they are made of steel

She is Frankie Bridge a member of girl group The Saturdays & married to former Manchester City footballer Wayne Bridge. She is the annoying screecher. If she's crying over rice she'll have a nervous breakdown when she gets out and learns that Wayne urged his fans to vote for her to do a trial www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/showbiz-news/im-celebritys-frankie-bridge-fuming-22254325
Frankie Bridge has spoken many times in the press over her battle with depression. She suffers badly or she did in the past. That show is the last thing she should have done. Silly girl.
I don’t like Naughty Boy. I’d never heard of him, but he behaves like a spoilt brat. He’s doing the trial tonight so I hope it’s a revolting one.
I can't watch the show for long, but I pop in during ad breaks and from what I've seen of Naughty Boy I would hate to be banged up anywhere near him. Last night he went to bed without his supper in a sulk because of the tiff he had with Frankie over cooking. Reminds me of when 30 was 4 or 5. She'd hit her sister over the head with an umbrella. I have to say it was only a child's umbrella and I was in no doubt that big sister would have deserved it, but that was not the point so I sent 30 up to her bedroom something I had never had to do before as she was the well-behaved one. Supper time came round and I went upstairs to get her. "Are you sorry?" she said "What for?" "Sending me upstairs." "No, you must not hit your sister." "I'm staying here then." "OK. Goodnight."
