Our spiders are less scary than Australian ones, and most don't bother me at all.
Earlier though, I was asked told to remove one mother of a spider that was patrolling the living room floor. Mrs M was worried it might be one that bites, and it certainly wasn't Harold, our usual visitor. Luckily Hartley didn't see it.
It looked a bit like this - not at all spindly, quite a tough guy.
I ignored the advice to "tread on the bastard", but rather than use bare hands, I scooped it into a cup and chucked the fecker out.
I still wouldn’t put a huge spider like that into a cup to ferry it outside.😳 I’m not too bad with ones that aren’t the big house spiders because I have a spider trap to use. It’s like a pyramid with a slat you can close once the critter’s inside it and it’s got a handle so I don’t get close to it. Thankfully I’ve only had 3 of the huge ones in the house since I moved here in 2009. However, in the barn that’s a different matter 😳 but I leave those to do their own thing because they’re not in the house. 👍
