I went out to the dentist. A load of drilling and an impression for the crown taken, using a gizmo that plots it in 3D. Far better than the squidgy stuff you used to have to bite down on. Got a temporary crown. Back in two weeks for the £630 permanent one.

No idea how much my crown is costing me at all. I am working on the principal you don’t get a better price by haggling with the dentist. I had my impressions taken yesterday with the nasty squidgy stuff Toril has mentioned and permanent crown to be fitted in a fortnight. I amused myself by trying to work out who else in the car park was off to see the dentist. You have to go to the parking area outside the local shops, phone the dentist to say you are there and wait for the phone call to come across to the surgery. I spotted one man as I was making my call then when I was waiting for the car to cool down after my appointment saw another man don his mask and cross the road.

And there in a wood a piggywig stood...

A lovely plant. I planted the bush variety in the lawn years ago when the girls were little. It grew well and I cut off the lower branches so it became a small tree. We lost it in gales a few years ago. Little Red Robin makes a superb lollipop tree in my opinion

You've givem me an idea with the lollipop tree. There's a large shrub in a tub at the front as well. It's had it's day and needs replacing. Everything out there is evergreen and set in shallow beds, I've noticed they all cope well with dry weather. I don't need to water them very often now established.
