Celeste and Vassili have just about forgiven us for putting them in the cattery holiday villa for 4 days. The other three were not bothered by being fed on the porch by friend, Gail, although a large ginger and white male seems to have infiltrated and is constantly being chased off by Kirsty Alley Cat. Cat politics are a bloomin' mystery as some 'visitors' are ignored or made welcome..
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
As I have mentioned previously, we often saw a bedraggled white kitten in or around the area.First time, she was around 5 months old and pregnant but she always ran from us. Not long after , she was pregnant again, but still scared. When she was expecting her 3 rd litter, she got a severe facial injury and let us approach her, we think she was weary by then. We fed her at the furthest part of the garden, she had her 3 kittens in an empty garden across the lane and they started to come for food, once they were weaned. After 3 months of this, we borrowed a trap cage and managed to entice her into it and got her and her kittens Mary, Kate and Ashley, spayed. Kate disappeared a couple of weeks later but the other two integrated well with our cats and moved in. Kirsty started living in our porch but it took several months before she would allow me to stroke her. This was 6 years ago, she has continued to live there, hissing at any cats passing her little house and grudgingly accepting a stroke now and then. Why am I telling you all this? Well, a month ago, she wandered into the house and had a good look around. Each evening since then, she has eaten her supper on the porch, then hesitantly come in as long as we don’t shut the door or make a loud noise. She has nuzzled our toes and allowed more strokes. Last night……she allowed Sam to lift her onto his knee !! She stayed there around 30 seconds before jumping down. 6 years it has taken and we are feeling really emotional ❤️
We have a 19 year old cat who's been loved and cherished all her life. The other night as I tried to innocently move her to a more comfortable and sensible part of the bed, she sank her teeth so deep into my arm that it looked like a scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the bedroom. The cat learned a new word, two in fact both together as she was sent outside hissing in disapproval. Would you like her?
Poor Freddie, his grooming session was cancelled last Monday and he feeling the heat. Roll on Tuesday for his rebooked appointment. I got him a cool pad yesterday and he seems a bit happier today crashed out on it.
