I wish we had a better choice of candidates from whichever party …

From a discussion on the radio this morning, the plans that Labour have made will mean the nationalisation of a lot of companies, eg., the water companies, and the cost will pass onto the tax payer. Quelle surprise!

They’re suggesting an “amnesty on immigration,” although what the heck that would mean heaven only knows. I also think, from listening to a lot of discussions and debates, that they will make moves to unite us more with Europe.

To be honest, I don’t believe most of what the politicians say. They make promises to suck us in to believe things will happen but they rarely don’t deliver.

As the election is during the summer months, I doubt the turnout will be that high as most people will be booking holidays, or away, so anything could happen. No doubt Labour will win although they won’t get my vote, but at least we’d have an elected Prime Minister instead of one who came in through the back door.

It is certainly time that the Tories were voted out.

This smacks of playing to the crowd to me, there is a demographic in this country to which this has been the standard cry as a solution to the "problem with the youth of today" since I was a teenager

I'm not on board with this at all. It would've disrupted my education for no good reason (I did maths, and I was strongly advised against taking a gap year - because after some time away from it, it's harder to get back into than many other subjects). 

Fortunately, it doesn't look like there's any chance of this being implemented. 

Anyway it's not the first time conscription has been re-introduced...
