Easy mistake to make, @lewis . It looks exactly like ZZ Top before Frank Beard joined them as the drummer (for those who don't know, Frank Beard is the one without a beard).

I haven't tried playing one of those. That one looks like what's called a Low F whistle, but most people, including me, use a traditional D whistle, which is much smaller, and higher pitched. If you ever see a tin whistle, AKA a penny whistle, it's likely to be a D whistle (not a Low D). Most Irish Folk bands use the traditional D whistle.
Have just seen the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill on Sea - a beautiful Art Deco building that has often featured in Poirot and other 1930s period dramas. A great show and a wonderful venue - unbelievably, we were able to park right outside for free!
