In fact inspite of the new legislation have received two unsolicited phonecalls this afternoon. Threatened both callers with the new fines. What is it with these people? One was to do with astrology!
I think the problem is that a lot of the phone calls originate in different countries that are not bound by these (or don't care about) these do not call laws.

These two were definitely from the UK- I could tell by the accent , vocabulary and style of speaking. The ones from abroad give themselves away immediately.

A lot originate from the UK or are UK owned companies so come within our legislation, report them is all we can keep doing at the moment

Yes the ones from abroad are easy to spot. The local ones you should be able to report.
I hope they are getting charged a connection fee for a call that never was. Also, if it's computer generated i.e. several numbers are targeted at the same time, I bust that system. The phone is right next to me so 2 rings & I do my thing.
My phone has rung about ten times already today. Some calls may be legit - I will check for messages later - but the vast majority will not. I know most of them are rubbish calls as I can here the answerphone message cut off in mid flow as they hang up!
Some will probably be election related over the next few weeks - they will get short shrift whichever party they are from!!
