I don't know whether these were already in the pipeline or rushed out due to her death, but Audible has a number of PD James' books in this week's new releases. Lovely long unabridged stories to listen to whilst you work. I have chosen two for this month's down loads.
In the past I was never interested in audiobooks, much preferring to read them myself. Since I now struggle to hold a book I've thought about Audible on and off. At £8 a month, though, I'm not sure I would use it enough to make it worthwhile. I wouldn't listen during the day and if all I had to do at night was listen I'd be asleep even quicker than when I try to read! Actually, if I tried to listen to one during the day I'd be asleep in seconds flat too!
If you like audiobooks, and listen to them a lot, I should think it's a great service.

I simply use the timer on my iPod to switch the device off after 20 minutes when I am falling asleep.this means you can find your place quickly next day or if you wake up too early. Currently I am using the Headband device which does not leak sound out- it can play havic with your hair though. I have an adapter to plug into the cigarette lighter in the car ( Belkin) so I can listen in the car too.
