We've got 2 Lidls in my town. One which has been here for a few years and one that is due to be completed/opened very soon. We also have a Waitrose. It'll be interesting to see who fares best. (I go to Lidl more than I go to Waitrose.)
We've just had a new Aldi and a new Waitrose. Amuses me that Sainsbury's have tidied up their store ahead of both opening. Suits me as I will use Saint more and its nice to have it spruced up.
I think I have only been to Waitrose a couple of times and that was years ago so I'm not sure I would notice if our Lidl tried to look like one of their stores! Our Lidl is usually heaving and you can't find a space in the car park so I don't think it needs any help.
Based solely on my local Lidl, anything to improve the layout and make it more customer friendly would be very welcome. It's located about 200 yards from Waitrose and it's certainly a contrast. I like Waitrose for a few bits occasionally. The main attraction for me is they give you plenty of room to move around the store and for obvious reasons it's never packed out with people, although a lot busier than it use to be since they started price matching.

I have been twice Mim. First trip was purely a recce and included the tech specials for male stocking fillers and today I looked at food items. I have liked what I have seen.
I've had some lovely bits and bobs from Aldi and some have been meh. Their smoked salmon isn't good. Their version of After Eights. The Turkish delight was bleeding yik! The black pepper crackers were lovely as was the chocolate truffle bars.
