Secondborn's girlfriend is down this weekend and, as it is the last time they will be together before Christmas, we decided to do a mini Christmas dinner today.(Had to be lunchtime as I have a carol service tonight!)
Mr EB has always been very contemptuous of frozen turkeys and has massively gone off Lidl recently but on the grounds of low funds we bought a frozen Lidl turkey a couple of days ago and let it defrost. It was a really nice turkey, very moist (I know, I hate that word too!) and extremely tasty. Well done Lidl! (and well done me for cooking it so well, obv! )
Rosie had a treat too as it contained giblets so she had the neck and other bits for breakfast!
Has anyone noticed school uniforms in Lidl? Specifically red and white checked dresses and red sweatshirts.
The friend of a friend of mine is collecting them to send to her daughter who runs an African orphanage, which operates more on the lines of a boarding school, but I've tried three branches locally and can't find them.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
Today is Mr EB's birthday and we had a most enjoyable meal courtesy of Lidl. We started with large Argentinian shrimp - ready cooked but I heated them through in some garlic butter. Then we had a side of salmon with lemon and dill, new potatoes and salad and washed the lot down with a bottle of their champagne. We finished (those of us that could!) with a Belgian chocolate cake.
It really was nice and I was very pleasantly surprised by their champers. (there isn't a champagne looking one!)

Sounds lovely EarlyBird! Mr FP has a special birthday coming up - we are keeping our fingers crossed we can go out to a restaurant as neither of the boys and families will be able to join us. It’s our Wedding Anniversary tomorrow ( 45 years) so we have booked a meal for that .
