I've realised I've not been since I was married & that ended 3 years ago. I hate having long hair but can A. Never find timeto go. or B. Always something the kids need so mummy goes without.

I used to have a mobile hairdresser when my two were small but I missed the 'experience' of going to a shop. Your water, your shampoo, your electricity, your towels, your sweeping up.
I go every five or six weeks now. I went for about six months without going other than to get my fringe trimmed a while back and my then normal collar length hair got really quite long. I used to trim the fringe a bit myself and snip the ends too. I'd tie it all up in a pony tail on the top of my head and cut straight across the tail. Instant layers lol.
That's when I really realised how fast my hair grows. Long hair doesn't suit me though. I don't have the right kind of hair.
Had a suggestion from new hairdresser last week - no, not that kind - about a mix of dark and silver highlights instead of all-over colour, to blend out my grey hairs but leave a few signs of ageing. Much cheaper than a colour every 5 weeks.
Not sure I'm ready for that yet.......
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I haven't been to the hairdressers for about 15 years! I do have long hair, although it's now just below me shoulders, but my son regularly 'blunts' the ends for me. Luckily I don't have to deal with dealing with roots as I'm blonde and seem to be following mum's side of the family. i.e. we stay this colour until our mid 80s and then go pure white.
When my sister grew her dyed black out in her mid 30's it had gone pure platinum and looked fabulous. I always hoped mine would do the same but no luck. It is going grey, it shows up well in sunlight but I can't do without the highlights. I need them done about 4-5 times a year, and I like to get it cut every couple of months.
I go every week for a wash and blow dry, and have a colour and cut every 5 weeks, although my hair grows faster than grass, and I could probably do with having it done every 4 weeks!
When Snarly had no £££, three years before a haircut, but it was waistlength. Twice a year for trim, now (below daShoulders - much easier to keep tidy). Grey hair so no touch-ups! and am cautious of chemicals on daScalp and parabens etc for health reasons. Big fan of hairpieces.
