Preheat your oven to 400 F. Whisk together the dry ingredients to incorporate, then paddle the butter into the dry ingredients with a stand mixer until they resemble small peas.
Add the apples and mix until coated and well dispersed, then add all of the wet ingredients at once and mix until just combined.
Roll the dough out onto a well floured surface and push any loose pieces together into a large mass with your hands.
Press the dough down gently and begin rolling it out until it’s approximately 3/4 inch thick.
Cut the scones into desired shapes and sizes, brush with a little cream, melted butter, or egg wash, and bake until golden.
