CHILD star Sawyer Sweeten has died aged 19 after committing suicide, his family have confirmed.
In a statement, they said Sawyer "took his own life" on Thursday morning.
It read: "This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred.
"We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday.
"At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love."
US media have reported the actor shot himself on the front porch of his home in Texas, although this is not confirmed.
Sawyer is best known for playing Geoffrey Barone in Everybody Loves Raymond, in which he starred alongside his twin brother Sullivan as Michael Barone and older sister Madylin as Ally Barone.
The popular US sitcom – which starred Ray Romano as Raymond – ran from 1996 to 2005.
Patricia Heaton, who played Sawyer's on-screen mother on the show, posted a tribute to the actor on Twitter.
"Sawyer Sweeten was a funny and exceptionally bright young man. He is gone from us far too soon," she said.
Another of Sawyer's Everybody Loves Raymond co-stars also paid tribute on Facebook.

I never watched the programme so it is not an actor I am familiar but to go at such a young age is so sad. I gather he had a twin as well as other family. Shocking for all of them.
