To explain myself a little bit before I ‘fess up. I had earmarked some money from a recent inheritance to treat myself to some jewellery. I had already decided I wanted every day jewellery … not a special piece that be worn once in a blue moon. The money came to me because of my godmother and she is largely responsible for my love of jewellery. She bought me silver bangles before I could walk! I’ve always loved and admired her jewellery. I’ve bought and worn to death pieces that were inspired by her jewellery.
So … then came the 20% off. That’s a fair chunk of money. If I bought both necklaces, the discount effectively made the bracelet that matched the second necklace free! And all three pieces with the discount were less than I had mentally given myself to spend anyway.
So there it is. Bought!! I shan’t regret it, I know that and I will wear all three, although maybe not together. But they are my memory pieces … although my godmother is already very much part of who I am. I loved her very much and as a child I worshipped the ground she walked on. I’m hugely grateful for the inheritance and I think this is a good use for some of the wonderful gift she and her husband gave me.
Can't fault your reasoning Tinks - buy more, save more! LOL
I don't wish to be a killjoy because they are lovely pieces but are you the same Tinkerbelle who stated recently that she wouldn't be buying any more plated jewellery? Just saying............
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
Love checking out these threads. 20% off is GoodShopping!!! Must say that Links doesn't inspire me to buy, but they are pretty. Like the BowRing also. A pretty LolaRose dumortierite bracelet has been ordered today.
Many moons ago you guys chatted about LolaRose and Snarly thought Don'tLike. A PolarBear can change her mind, can't she? daBracelets a la LolaRose in daDen must be in daTeens by now.
I like to see what others are buying. Even if, like Snarly with the Links of London, it isn't what I would necessarily buy I still like to see.
And sometimes you find new things that are what you would buy.
Like Min's (by proxy) bow ring. I don't go into Pandora because those kind of charm bracelets aren't me. But I love that ring. And they had other lovely rings too.
Lola Rose is a great one to collect. Doesn't cost a fortune and when you're bored of it pop on eBay and you'll at least get some of your money back. Or buy from eBay in the first place
That's me done on the jewellery front for a while. But before eagle eyed Nellie catches me out, please note I am waiting for a quote on another smoky quartz ring so if I squeal in saying I've bought that, it doesn't count. Well it does but I've looked for this for years and I've been sat on the money for heaven alone knows how long.
I'm still after an east west moonstone ring Tinks. I tell myself that it's a goal and it's good to have something to look forward to ... Then I think what the heck! Where is it!? Someone must sell one LOL 24 suggested we take a little trip to a little village fairly close by that is a bit upmarket. I confess, the first thing that popped into my mind when she suggested it was the little jewellery boutique with the big prices.
