I saw a trailer for this too. I honestly thank my stars that, given their size and strength, neither of mine bite or scratch in temper or in play. They just don't. It has to be a trait of the breed as I have never had such placid, laid back cats.
Most of the cats just don't seem to like being handled so why on earth don't the owners leave them alone? I did think that some of them did it just to get a reaction that they could then post on youtube or wherever and get their 15 minutes of fame, is there a name for it like Munchausens by proxy?
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong
Harvey doesn't like being picked up so we don't pick him up. I only do it once in a while to be sure that I still can in case I need to ... to get him to the vet. He doesn't react badly. He just goes stiff as a board for a few seconds and then starts to panic. What's the point?
One of mine doesn't like being picked up or get her belly rubbed. The other loves it. Dusty gets upset with me when I shoo her away from the window when the stray cat is out there. Most of the time though they are just the mellowest of cats.
I do remember one time coming home from work and seeing my cat(different cat) on the roof of the house and wondering how the heck she got there. Next thing I know a stray cat came from out of nowhere and decided to use my legs as a scratching post. I was wearing jeans at the time and when I went into the house took them off, I had deep gouges, blood running everywhere and bruises from the cat. Jeans were ok though.
I'm just glad that the cats I've had in the past (and I've had four) were all very human orientated and never even scratched me. In my opinion, it was the owners of those cats who needed training ..... not the cats.
