Well done to Aldi. I remember how much it cost to kit the boys out for High School with the approved list. As long as they are right school colours it shouldn't matter where you buy them.

Fingers crossed the children don't have a massive grow spurt during the summer holidays. The other option is to buy several sizes too large so they look like they are wearing someone else's clothes in September.
Sorry but how the hell can they produce those clothes at that price? Unless they're loss leaders. Let's hope they are loss leaders or some poor bugger in a sweat shop in the Far East has taken a hit on their pittance of an hourly rate.

Large families in this country struggle to pay for uniform so I welcome the Aldi/Tesco/Asda prices. Wearing uniform during the school week means the parents aren't being nagged into buying expensive designer clothes either.
You only seem to hear about buying school uniform around this time of year.
I'm ignorant in this matter - is it available all year, or do parents have to buy in bulk in different sizes now for the next 12 months? I seem to remember it was only bought once a year and having to wear uniform that was far too big for me until I grew into it.
The bulk of the cut price uniforms is available at this time of year. There still are specialized shops around in this area so technically it is available all year round. I remember one year when 30 managed to get through the last two decent pair of woolly tights in a week. It was February and ankle socks were everywhere but no tights.
Baby Tink plagued me rotten with school uniform. At primary school he was very small for his age. He didn't really catch up until he was about 8 or 9. Then he rocketed reaching his current 5 11 by the time he was 14!!
He grew so fast even he couldn't keep track of how tall/big he was. His spatial awareness was rubbish. Stubbed toes, bashed elbows. I remember he had dreadful pains in his legs from growth spurts. I had to buy all his clothes too big or he'd be out of them within months. Then he suddenly stopped and hasn't really grown much since.
At 14 he looked about 21 with his face full of designer stubble and broad shoulders. He seemed to grow right through the gangly phase altogether!!
