The supermarket claims its vintage-inspired goods including bed spreads and duvets rival other high street stores with certain pieces reportedly a staggering 500 per cent cheaper than other brands.
I have only just bought a lovely pale duck egg blue leg tin. It was in the sale for £7 so maybe not quite Aldi prices but I love it.
It came with a little metal thing inside. I thought it was something that shouldn't be there and nearly binned it but when I used it the first time I realised it was a widget that hung it on the washing line!!
I never used to hang my old peg bag on the washing line and that had a proper coat hanger type top to it. But if you do and you buy a bucket. Don't chuck out the metal bit.
That looks sturdy Berry McPaper-cuts. I use an old Quality Street sweet jar - the tall screw lid one - to store my pegs on the patio doorstep. Stops the pegs rusting.
I wish Aldi would pull their finger out and start opening more stores in the South. There's one in the middle of Surrey, the next quickest to get to is 10 miles away.
I'm liking what I've tried from Lidl so far, definitely going to use it more often. The trouble is it's becoming too popular for it's size. I park underneath the store, but usually enter at the front. There are no trolleys kept in the store, and most times you need to go the car park to retrieve one. Last week there were no baskets available because they were all stacked up at the tills. I realise minimum staff is part of keeping prices down but it needs addressing if they want to keep up with their success.
We are lucky in that we have two Aldi stores about 5 miles apart and a fairly large Lidl closer still, just across the roundabout from Tesco Extra. They are becoming very popular around us too. When we first stared shopping there it was cash only at the tills.

Our Aldi has a big car park right outside but at the weekend when there are tourists riding the train and Sunday when there is a car boot sale in the station car park it can get busy. I don't visit Lidl as often as I should simply because the Aldi is so close. I do look to see what specials Lidl have got on.
Lidl has more bargain baskets in the centre that's why I favour it. I start off shopping quite well, strolling along & stocking up on tea, coffee, bread, salad but by the time I get to the back wall, the fridges, Himself is still lingering around the instore bakery so I wander down the aisles looking in the bargain baskets leaving Himself to read labels. By the time I'm done, Himself has more or less done the shop. I just annoy him by asking if he's got this, that or the other in the trolley.
We're getting an Aldi. I can't see it having a very big car park and I think there will be problems because its opposite a parade of shops with a reasonable amount of parking. People will park there to go to Aldi. The local shopkeepers aren't happy about it.
Our Aldi has a "green" roof and no I don't mean its painted green.
I shall certainly go and push my nose around.
My much anticipated Asda Superstore is a raging flop. Very little superstore about it. All food and groceries and very little else.
I've only just realised there is a big Aldi here - not tried it yet.
I'm new to Lidl and although I don't like it as much as Aldi, the fresh bread and rolls are delicious - too delicious really. The flowers are excellent value for money too.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
