Might not be a good idea it seems if John Naish's article is to be believed.
Chemical sprays, plug-ins and gels for home perfuming are hugely popular but investigators warn that they can include an array of hazardous substances which may cause lung damage and tumours, interfere with our hormones and cause such lifelong problems as asthma.
I can definitely relate to incense, plug-ins and candles. There is something in them that catches me in the back of the throat within minutes, I start coughing and feel asthmatic, daren't go anwhere near displays in shops.
The plug-ins are dangerous - just the right height for cats and dogs to breathe in the fumes - and I believe they can be a fire hazard if still switched on when empty.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I only ever use candles. I don't bother with the rest. I'm always cautious of cat's tails and candles which is one reason I prefer jar candles with a shade.

Reed diffusers for me too. Never, ever light candles. In our local paper there seems to be a fire nearly every week caused by a candle left burning. I have been known to use tealights when there is a powercut.
