Anyone going to stay up to watch the Supermoon eclipse around 3 a.m. tonight? During the eclipse the moon will be red they're forecasting clear skies so we should be able to see it clearly, perfect for those with insomnia

I am definitely going to be watching. OH will still be up so I have asked him to wake me. I always like to get up for something like this. Many, many years ago my dad used to wake me for the launch or re-entry of the Apollo missions!
The forecast is for clear skies here but we are in a dip so we might have to go for a walk to avoid trees and houses!
I've just driven home and the moon looks really beautiful at the moment.
I suppose as one hasn't been seen since 1982 and won't be again until 2032, I ought to make the effort to look at it. As it's completely within the shadow from 03:11 to 04:24 I think I'll set the alarm for 0400am.

I got up at 3.00 am and watched it for about 40 minutes. Here in the South East it wasn't the lovely blood red that I've seen in the news it was more a muddy brown I expect the colour varies due to levels of pollution but still amazing and I'm glad I managed to see it
