I hate winter. How anyone can say it's a magical season is beyond me. What, icy pavements, constant cold and Christmas on top? Bin it. Then there's New Year and everyone shaking hands with people they don't know wishing them a happy New Year, what's that all about? I think we should take an injection in October and wake up in the spring. How amazing would that be, you could even bypass Easter, depending on if it was early or late. Hedgehogs hibernate, it works for them.
This is autumn. Winter is the last season of the year and in gardening speak runs from December to February.
I honestly wouldn't want to live where the seasons blur into one.
I like to see the garden changing and tucking itself away for the cooler weather and then bursting into life again in March. Reminds me I'm a country girl at heart where the seasons matter. Spring brings hope and prosperity. Autumn is time to gather things in and tuck up for the coming winter. I love the summer but I'm still happy to see the other seasons.

I love this season of Autumn too. The colours are magical. Just as long as it doesn't rain all the time. I am OK with Winter unless I can't get out because of the snow. With our three weekly bin collection I am dreading the time when it becomes 6 weeks because the bin lorries can't get to us. It's rather hilly where we live and gets dangerous to drive on.
I love the changing seasons too - not a fan of snow if I have to be out in it - but, having lived in a place where there is sunshine virtually all year round (interspersed by the odd hurricane!) I know how wearing that can be.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
A few years back there was some half serious consideration of a move to Australia raised by my other half. On you go says I. I couldn't imagine wishing to live in that kind of climate. There were other very practical reasons too but the thought of living in a near desert leaves me cold.
We have talked about living somewhere with a warmer climate as it would help with all my aches and pains. I would miss the seasons though - I especially love autumn and I really love snow so it would have to be somewhere that had some high mountains so I could get a snow fix when I needed it!
As I don't like hot weather and I avoid the sun wherever possible, I'm definitely a Winter person.
Also, if it does get really cold you can put clothes on to keep warm. But ........ if it's too hot and you take clothes off to cool down you could be arrested for indecent exposure. show bum
Our climate is great, we are very lucky when you look at the extremes around the world. I hate November and December for no other reason they are usually dark and wet. A sunny crisp December is OK, but rare.
I love January, even if it's bad weather, because the days start lengthening again.
I know AF! It's coming -YAY! I've been dusting off my ornaments!
The Range is full to bursting with Christmas decorations now. Couldn't find what I wanted because most of the store has been taken over by festive paraphernalia.
Yo Ho Ho.
