Mark Billingham’s ‘The Last Dance’- very funny! Highly recommended.
He usually writes gory murder stories doesn't he - Sleepyhead. Scaredy Cat, Lazybones, The Burning Girl, so the one you mention must be a change of tack
Numerous books since I last posted but have just finished Deborah Lucy's "Complete detective Temple mysteries", a 3 book series which was un-put-downable. I hope she writes some more....
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
I hate it when a series I'm enjoying comes to an end.
I'm reading The Man in the Wooden Hat by Jane Gardam, the second in a series about the colonial lives of post war barristers who work in London and Hong Kong. The first is called Old Filth which stands for Failed In London Try Hong Kong. Interesting stuff.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
Fans of Faith Martin, Helen Durrant et al will love The Complete West Country mysteries by Rebecca Tope. I bought the 7 book bundle on a whim, am on to Book 5 and cannot stop reading. They are are a bit different to the usual crime, based around many of the same people within a mainly farming community in a small local area. I cannot recommend them too highly.

I have just started number 10 in the Cotswold series.Fascinated by the fact that the main character in all of them is not particularly likeable, her own worst enemy, in fact. I may get round to Osman some day if prices come down, which is unlikely. At the rate I read, I cannot afford to pay between 5-11.00 for a download when I can get bundles of up to 7 by other authors for the price of one of his. That's not to say he and others are not worth it, just my own circumstances.

If it’s reading I look for kindle cheapies.I listen to books via audible which means I get two a month at the discount price or more when they do their 2 for 1 sales. I have just re-read/heard all my Mitchell and Markby books.
