I think that men like women to look pretty and for most of us mere mortals that involves a bit of help with make up so in reality I would say that men prefer women wearing make up
It's all about balance I reckon. Enhance yes, obliterate no. Some tangoed women can look really hard faced with all the goop they put on. It's usually the eyebrows that scares me
I think men like women to wear a bit of make up. OH (who wears very strong glasses) usually doesn't notice much, but he would notice if I went out without any make up. Obviously I look terrible without it!
I'm with Cog on this! Anyway, as my children often point out "Mum won't even put the rubbish out without her eyeliner on" I have always worn quite dramatic eye makeup and these days, I need a good foundation to even out the colour on my face. Not sure what hubby would think if I decided to go makeup free, I've never put him to the test!
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
I remember, when I was really struggling with this dizzy stuff, my son was adamant I couldn't pick up my prescription. His argument wasn't about makeup, although I wasn't wearing any. He said "woman you don't look out the front door without jewrllery or perfume and you're wearing neither"

I am strongly with the need to don my make up when going outside particularly mascara as I have blonde eyelashes which are usually dyed, but will not be able to do that for a good few weeks. I do try to be subtle with my make up but can't do without tightlining either.

I think the majority of men like women to wear make up, but are not so keen if it's really over the top.
I wear mineral foundation, blusher and lipstick most days, don't go out without any these days. I like a eye make-up for nights out but can't be bothered with it normally as my eyes get sore after a while.
