I've stayed outside while she's out & watched her. She went to the bottom of the garden and legged it into the field behind. She was AWOL for about an hour. She does not respond to her name Ruby nor her original name, nor a whistle. She ventured to the front of the house yesterday, saw a dog (on a lead for once) and zipped back under the gate into the back quick smart. Today she went outside several times, confining herself to the back garden and seemed more relaxed, taking in the rays rather than rushing around. She's yet to encounter my neighbour's cats or any of the wanderers we get strolling through. It was tiring work mind Attachment Deleted

Mine too DD! Boris occasionally doesn't come fast enough at nightime but then cries outside the bathroom window until Mr FP goes down and lets him in. I am looking forward to Ruby meeting up with the local cats.
I haven't told her about Judas Asparagus, Big Bugga or Herod the Grape. Ruby just got the shock of her life when she went out to the drive. My neighbour's chickens have escaped and three of them were strutting around. They are enormous! I could see Lana Turnip patrolling the lane as well.
It's all been happening here during the this spell of fine weather. She caught a bird which was sadly dead when I got to it and two mice. I saved last night's catch by kicking the football in her direction. She was so startled that Mr Mouse had a chance to escape. This morning Billy Bean strolled through the garden and I saw Ruby chase him off quick smart. She's still coming inside to use her tray. The used litter I put outside to attract her to that spot is working - all the other cats use it She's picked up the fact that you can gain access into the house through the study window which is a blessing because she returns on the hour to check if I'm up to no good & it saves me from going to open the patio door all the time. I've just got the watch I don't dangle the camera strap out of the window
