We've had the occasional feathered visitor from next door's free roaming rescue flock. They must fly over a 4ft wall topped with a few feet of hedge or fencing! The grass must look greener over here..............lol
A bit of a job to collect the blighters or 'usher' them back over the wall.
He took up residence in our garden @sacha when a dog got into my neighbours field and killed 5 chickens. He's quite happy scratching around but he did give our Ruby a bit of a turn. The biggest robin she's ever seen!
Years ago I took one of my cats with me when I went to visit my parents on the farm. By mistake. She was a stowaway in the boot!
They didn't have any other cats so it wasn't too much of an issue but she was terrified by the sounds and smells of the farm. She finally plucked up the nerve to go outside when a flock of hens rounded the corner and she did that cartoon leap and mid-air wheel spin. She couldn't get back in the house fast enough lol.
Yes Frazz , I called him Houdini because he keeps giving us the slip. He's an old boy with one tail feather left. He did have two, but he lost one yesterday, when my neighbour & his daughter came yesterday to nab him. LOL No chance, even with Ruby helping
To be honest, Ruby just wanted to know what was in the bag. She wasn't very helpful. Later on Himself decided to have a go with a secret weapon - a tablecloth to throw over him. Houdini was having none of it!
