Villa 4-0 Brentford Villa scored three in the first 15 minutes, the same number as in the last six matches under Stevie Gerrard. He shouldn't have been sacked. Big Sis is going to be unbearable and I can almost hear The Technician laughing.
Southampton 1-1 Arsenal The Gunners have blown it - still top but only by two points which Man City will capitalise on soon. God was not on Arsenal's side today, Jesus obviously doesn't care for Sunday afternoon games.
Wolves 0-4 Leicester Anything Villa can do we can do better - our 4-0 win being away from home. In fact the first time we've won at Molyneaux (sic?) since 1981. Old skool performance from us, Barnes, Maddie and Vardy all netting plus Tielemans' opener which might make him reconsider leaving. Barnes and Maddie are looking for seats on the Qatar plane and they derserve them over Mount and Jacqui. Brenda will be pleased with that, though it puts back his £10m pay-off for a bit longer.
Spurs 1-2 Newcastle Well that was a result or what? By HT the Geordies were cruising at 0-2, but in the second Kane came along and put the wind up them a bit. And so an exercise in clinging on for half an hour, which they did superbly by wasting time and rolling on the floor a lot. Nick Pope the Toon keeper did get booked for timewasting, but I suppose nipping off with the ball to go for a wee and stopping off for a saveloy dip on the way back is pushing it a bit.
Newcastle move up to 4th, a Champions League position.
See the chap in the yellow shirt? That's Hugo Lloris, the Spurs keeper and he's bloody hopeless.
West Ham 2-0 Bournemouth I struggle with Hammers games because I don't know much about them, but tonight they won apparently by the Cherries cheating throughout and using their hands as if they were Argentinian. Thus VAR stepped in quite rightly gave West Ham the goals. David Moyes will be chuffed at the move from one place above relegation to top half in one night.
Wrong fred really but just watched the end of a women’s World Cup rugby match. It was excellent, New Zealand beat Wales 55-3. And not only that two of the “girls” had a right old scrap and I’m surprised they weren’t sent off. 😅
