Because a hot drink at work was invariably cold before a chance to drink, I got used to drinking cold weak black coffee, which was preferable to to white and had the advantage of no sugar. Strangely, I can't stand black coffee with sugar, and dislike white without it.
Just remembered, I got the taste for weak black tea when I was very ill in Crete in the 80's following their water filtration system failing. I was off work for 3 weeks when we got home!
Ouch, Frazz, that must have been nasty. I hate sugar in any form of coffee but just about bearable in white coffee if it has been accidentally added so we have similar taste. I asked because frappe has been popular all over greece for the last 50 years, people either drank the traditional brew made in a Briki( thrice boiled and with a load of grounds in the bottom of the cup) or a frappe, often called "Nes" because Nescafe was used for that one.The grounds from the traditional brew are used for fortune telling.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
4 for 7 quid in Lidl, an expensive gamble with a Belgian brew but this is up there with Duval. I thought it would be good as there were very few left on the shelf, a good sign if you're unsure.
