Not a great distance, but when we moved to where I live now one of our cats kept going back to our old address. She spent a lot of time with the children who lived next door and really missed them. We were good friends with the parents and they took her on as everytime she went back she had to cross a busy dual carrigeway. When they moved nearby not long after they still kept her, she lived to 20 years!
