I have ordered some comfrey via Amazon to relieve the arthritic pain in my ankle and the parcel is out for delivery today. I was amazed to get an e-mail directly from the company just now telling me exactly how to use the comfrey to get the best results. I think that is pretty good service!

I am giving it a go Cariad , as you say it's worth a try. I like to massage the painful area. There appear to be some hospital trials that show it can help. Perhaps today was a bad start day as I had to help Mr Maisie shift heavy furniture, then go shopping, then steam mop away all the paw prints in the conservatory etc etc. It doesn't smell and it massages in nicely.
Sorry to hear that the Comfrey didn't work for you FP and suffering constant pain is very debilitating. If cold compresses ease the pain, can I recommend a cream that I have mentioned before on these forums? It's called Dynamint and because it contains Peppermint Oil and Tea Tree oil it is immediately very cool and soothing on the skin. It's particularly used to relieve aching muscles and joints, it's my go to product when my back is playing up!
I can give you more details if you are interested.

Yes please Sacha. I have been using Joint Flex which is a cooling gel with glucosamine, menthol & horse chesnut during the day as I am only supposed to cool compress twice a day. The comfrey has gone into the 'tried but didn't work ' drawer. When there is no pain I forget about which potions and lotions have eased the aches. I need to make a list!
Here's a link for you FP, I expect it may be available elsewhere on the web but I always get it from the same suppliers near Leicester, Wellness Direct If I order two bottles, it comes postage free. I usually just ring them up and order by phone, it's a freephone number.
