My popty ping is only a few feet away from the patio doors so I've never seen the point in BBQs. The last time I went to a BBQ I gave the host's horrible corgis (5 of the buggas and crabby as crabby be)the black sausages that were pressed upon me. "They are a bit well done on the outside" she said. Hopefully your dogs will be well done on the inside I thought.

That's the last time Her Maj invites you to one of her barbies then?
No BBQ for me thanks. Got food poisoning once after eating underdone meat, not a happy memory.
As a fish eater I'm not keen on burgers, bangers or chicken drumsticks. But if a neighbours BBQing nearby I don't mind the smell of their cooking.......
We've just got back from a BBQ. We had sausages, chicken tikka, and chicken on skewers with, peppers, onions, mushrooms a courgettes. Accompaniments were new potatoes, salad, couscous and a rice salad. I had sparkling water with ice and lemon (designated driver), followed by strawberry pavlova - my friend makes the best pav ever!
Love a BBQ. Not mad keen on burgers but sausages and chicken definitely. I tend to let himself cook the meat and I do all the "sides".
Corn on the cob is one of my favourites ... boil them ahead of time so they don't get cremated. Love a Greek salad to go with chicken. I usually marinate the chicken with lemon, mint and chilli. Homemade coleslaw is an easy one too. Still in search of the best ever potato salad recipe.
We have a gas BBQ. Bit of a cheat really but makes it quick and easy.
My mum's potato salad was the best I've ever had - just simple though. She never peeled the new potatoes, boiled them in well salted water, always used Hellman's mayo, snipped chives into the mix and served in a bowl that had been rubbed round with a garlic clove.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.

I'll give that a whirl. Any pepper in the salad? Any particular potatoes? I've got some Charlotte potatoes fresh from the allotment today so I do plan to make a potato salad later this week to go with a quiche.
