This time 36 years ago, there was a petrol shortage, and it was really foggy! I thought we wouldn't have any wedding photos. I told Mr Cog that if decided he wasn't going to turn up, then please let me know, so I wasn't sitting around like Miss Haversham (puke)
I went to to the hairdresser at 8.30am then back home to get ready. We got married in a Register Office, so I didn't have a traditional dress, I had a Frank Usher ballerina length dress, in grey and beige. It wasn't the dress that I thought I was going out to buy, but when I saw it, I knew it was the one. I've still got it, and it still fits. Mr Cogs suit was made by Austin Reed, and despite numerous fittings, it didn't! One lapel was longer than the other and it was awful, but it was too late to get another, so he wore it on the day, then took it back, needless to say, he didn't pay for it.
Christmas was a busy time for Mr Cog, so we didn't have a honeymoon, we just went away for a couple of days, then had our proper honeymoon in June, when we went to St Lucia - and I nearly drowned in the pool!
36 years have whizzed by in a flash, it's been mostly good times, with the occasional blip, but I wouldn't change a thing.
