Oscar used to go out for two or three nights at a time, male cats tending to roam more, so we didn't worry too much when he went off again 12 years ago. But he never came back. Millie on the other hand we can't get shot of.
Great news Berry McPaper-cuts . I expect she got lots of kisses and cuddles.....just to show her what she'd been missing while she was out exploring. Hope you've got locking catflaps so she is 'grounded' tonight.
We tried that at Christmas - she borrowed FP Major's cat's tracker but she was miserable as you had to put the collar on and take it off every time she went out and she hated all the fussing. She 's an independent young lady who prefers to remain aloof, possibly because Boris is such a bossy little devil. Anyway the tracker showed she zigzagged between us, next door to the left, next door and beyond to the right, the railway and that was about it. She likes sitting on the pinnacle of a neighbour's garage too.Boris's trail went further up the road and around but he fought having the thing on at all and it was a nightmare ! The tracker went back further oop North. FP Major's cat's journeys showed she spent most of the day comatose inside when they were out at work and rarely used the catflap till they were home.
You get so use to their routines it's a worry if they go even just an hour or two over. I worry about them getting shut in sheds and garages, this time of year especially.
Oh that's interesting FP. I swore I was going to get a tracker fitted to Harvey.
He was very elusive whilst I was on holiday and he went three days without being seen. Doesn't mean he was gone for three days just that no one had clapped eyes on him. I was so worried I even enlisted the help of my ex husband. Harvey quite likes him ... sometimes lol. He drove 40 miles there and back to try and catch sight of him but couldn't. Next morning my cleaner was feeding them and came about 9am to find Harvey asleep in his wooden box as if he'd never been AWOL. She calls him the scarlet pimpernel.
