Did not watch the show because I couldn't imagine Le Q would find any stylish clothes to last an hour. Looking through what was on offer looks like a good gig for Ruth- plenty of dosh, lots of publicity and no speaking as La Kabler did it all. The edge to edge navy coat looked OK but the Kim&Co jumpsuit did not do Jackie any favours. Bet there was a lot of backslapping going on at Le Q headquarters. Would love to know whether there was a Delia effect on the selling. At least they didn't try and flog the Yong Kong Fooey stuff.
I saw some of the show and basically it was no different to any other fashion hour. QVC think they have hit the jackpot getting Ruth Langsford on there. I noticed that during breaks she is doing ads gushing about the wonderful QVC!

Why does QVC think that the likes of Michelle Mone, Lisa Snowden, Ruth Thingummy etc tempt women to buy ? Are we that shallow that we see a product endorsed by them and think it will make us like them?An article I read in The Guardian this morning seems to imply that these shlebs have more impact on our social thinking than politicians.
if something is 'sleb' endorsed, its more likely to turn me off buying it. Do they really think we're that stupid that we believe that someone paid to put their name to a product makes us believe they like it? I find it an insult to my intelligence
It doesn't influence me not least because half of the celebs who endorse stuff for QVC are peeps I've never heard of. The exception being Lisa Snowden. The rest all seem to be daytime telly stars which I never get the ruddy chance to have half an eye at!
If a product has a celebrity endorsement then that's a sure fire way to stop me buying it. I refuse to follow so-called trends because some Z-lister or wannabe tells me it's "on trend."
I don't watch much QVC any more but did put the "Ruth show" on for about 20 minutes because the presenters have been raving about it. I don't mind Ruth, having watched her in usual role, but I can't understand the reason she was there to be honest. The QVC stylists were the main people to put the outfits together (need I say more? ) and if Ruth really loved the fashion then she would wear it on her other shows and wouldn't have worn a long coat over the clothes for the entire hour, although she did change into another one.
That's 20 minutes I can never get back and I certainly won't bother watching for the next five weeks.
